ANC leader Musaliam Mudavadi is unfit and cannot win the Presidency, a western Kenya Senator has said.
Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale says that there is no way Mudavadi will rise to the Presidency and that he would rather quit and support a leader who can win it instead of splitting Luhya votes.
Mudavadi is confident that he will run for the Presidency in the 2017 polls.
This is despite a recent poll showing that he only had 1% of the pie in a national vote if the elections were held today.
Khalwale has dismissed Mudavadi as fighting out in a league he does not belong in.
” The reason we are struggling in western Kenya is because some of our leaders do not want to accept that others can do a job and let them be,” he said.
” I am backing Wetangula (Moses) because he can unite Luhyas and Kenyans. The others here in western are wasting time,” he added.
Mudavadi has accused the pollsters of undermining him.
The latest Infotrak election poll ratings on presidential candidates is either a fraud or a pre- April fools day hoax, the ANC party leader added.
“I rarely comment on election polls rating of presidential candidates. However, in recent times, pollsters have been condemned as businesses out to manipulate people’s democratic rights to choose by creating despondency towards select candidates. The ultimate aim is to create despair and apathy among supporters of given candidates” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi finished a distant third behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and CORD leader Raila Odinga in the 2013 polls.
