CORD MPs have expressed interest in quitting the Coalition to join Maendeleo Chap Chap movement.
Leader Alfred Mutua says that he has received calls from MPs to join the party.
” They are keen as and when we will become a political party,” Mutua said.
He said that as many as 150 MPs and Members of County Assemblies MCA’s have stated they will join the party.
” It is the vessel for the future. There is interest and I am happy to know that the progression we promise is attracting leaders,” he added.
Mutua will contest for the 2017 General Elections using his new party.
He says that the CORD Coalition is not helpful to residents of the Eastern region which eh says are suffering from languid leadership.
The move will leave him in a precarious position ahead of the 2017 polls as those supporting Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka who is heavily influential in the region will seek to oust him.
