MP Tells Residents To Vote Out Their Governor In 2017

Nyeri Women Representative, Priscilla Nyokabi has asked Nyeri residents to vote out Governor Nderitu Gachagua next year, saying he has not performed.

Nyokabi said Nyeri needs a better Governor able to propel the county towards prosperity.

She said that the County is endowed with a lot of resources and needs good leadership to manage them well.

The MP said that the County needs a Governor who is able to unite local leaders and foster a good working relationship.

“The current Governor has not failed but I think he could have done better. Leadership is a calling from God. Most importantly, we need a good and better captain and Governor. If we get a good Governor, the County will move forward,” she said.

Nyokabi, who was accompanied by Nyeri Town MP Esther Murugi was speaking to the media after attending a special prayer session at Nyeri Catholic Cathedral Secretariat.

Murugi said that the prayers were held to ensure that there is unity among all leaders towards reviving all the sectors in the County.

The prayers also involved matters on agriculture, education, security and illicit liquors.

Governor Gachagua who has not been seen in Nyeri for the last two months is abroad for medical review since early this year.
