After main sponsor Cell C pulled out many had thought the 2019 Miss SA pageant might not see the light of day, however it seems the show will go on.
Entries for the 60-year-old pageant officially opened on Monday with a winner set to be crowned on Women’s Day August 9.
A statement from organisers confirmed that the pageant will be aired on M-Net and Mzansi Magic and will take place at Sun Arena at Times Square in Pretoria.
Prizes for this year’s pageant are worth nearly R 3 million which include a cash prize of R 1m and a car and more.
Organisers have launched a new media campaign called “Miss South Africa Light Up Your Dreams,” which features five former Miss SA winners.
Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala (Miss SA 2010), Rolene Strauss (Miss SA & Miss World 2014), Liesl Laurie (Miss SA 2015), Ntandoyenkosi Kunene-Mthethwa (Miss SA 2016) and reigning Miss SA, Tamaryn Green feature in the campaign which shows how the ladies have become successful because of Miss SA.
