Millions Of Property Destroyed As Fire Guts Down School Dormitory

Kaplong Boys’ High School in Bomet County is counting losses after a fire razed down the school dormitory.

The fire that started around 8.00pm Thursday was however not contained in time as the  fire fighters from Bomet County arrived late.

No student was injured in the incident.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established.

Over the last one month, cases of fires in schools have on the rise, with Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion blaming it on the recent change in the school calendar, claims that the Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has dismissed.
