An 18-year-old mentally-ill teenage boy was reportedly mauled by crocodiles at Lufupa River in Malawi’s Malenga Sanga village at the weekend.
According to Malawi24, only Clifford Phiri’s head and spine were found.
A close relative said Phiri, because of his mental illness, would sometimes wander-off and go missing.
In this incident his body was found two days later.
This is the second incident in Malawi, in at least two weeks, where mental illness was apparently involved.
Two weeks ago, a mother of three, who was deemed mentally-ill, was arrested for the murder of her children in the Mchinji District.
The woman, 38, allegedly hit her sons to death with a hoe handle.
