Two members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have allegedly died in two seperate incidents in in Onitsha, Anambra State.
According to Sun News Online, one of the members died after resisting arrest by two policemen after a case of assault was laid on him by an unknown woman.
Rather than submit, the man is said to have mobilized 20 other members who then attacked the policemen.
The man is said to have died after reporting that he was experiencing severe pain following the confrontation, Vanguard reports.
In a seperate incident, a woman had complained to another MASSOB member about a member of a rival gang having assaulted her, following which the man gathered his colleagues and attacked the victim.
The victim was said to have been beaten into a coma and subsequently died as a result of his injuries.
Olabanji Kayode, Police officer at the Okpoko Division, has since confirmed the incidents.
