Man In Court For Assaulting Polygamous Father’s House.

A 32-year-old man who allegedly assaulted and destroyed his polygamous father’s house in Mutini location, Kitui County, was Thursday arraigned in a Kitui court.

The accused, Boniface Mumo, who appeared before Chief Magistrate, Esther Boke, was also charged with stealing his father beans valued at Shs.6, 400.

Prosecutor Mureithi Mutegi said the accused was apprehended after his father, Simon Kavisu reported the matter at Kabati police station after being informed of the incident by his second wife.

Mureithi added that when Kavisu rushed home on the material day, he found his house in ruins and 84 kilograms of beans earlier stored therein missing.

The accused told the court that he took the action after his father allegedly abandoned his first family in favour of his second one.

Mumo was released on a Shs.60, 000 bond or Shs.7, 000 cash bail until May 16 when the case will continue.
