A report released by IPSOS reveals that Uhuru is a favorite to win the presidential election in 2017.
The poll, conducted by IPSOS, stated that the Jubilee Coalition led by President Uhuru Kenyatta is more popular among Kenyans compared to Raila and the CORD coalition.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s popularity rose by 21% up from 47% to 68% between June 4 and 18, 2016.
However, the Jubilee coalition experienced a set back with poor ratings in Nyanza where Raila Odinga and the CORD coalition has his top stronghold.
The statistics revealed that Uhuru’s popularity in Western Kenya is a 52%, 88% in Central Kenya- his highest ratings and 71% in Rift Valley.
He also received an approval rating of 68% in Eastern and 66% in Coast regions.
Overall, the poll revealed that 46% of respondents supported the Jubilee coalition compared to the 32% the opposition coalition received.
Both coalitions are preparing to face off in the 2017 General Election.
