Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday explained why CORD leader Raila Odinga had been attacking him frequently and linking him to corruption.
Appearing in an interview on K24, Ruto disclosed that Odinga could not understand how he made it yet he came from a poor family.
The DP accused the Opposition leader of propagating a false narrative that he was corrupt and affirmed he could account for every shilling.
“My friend Raila is a bad loser. When I supported him, I was good a person. I want to tell Raila that I am not what he wants people to believe I am. I work very hard and if I was corrupt I would be in jail by now.
“I can account for any shilling I have and every step I have made both as an individual and a politician,” Ruto affirmed.
The DP dared anyone who had issues with his wealth to challenge him and said he had no apologies for being a hustler and vowed that he would never disown where he came from.
“I have no apologies to make for being a hustler and for working hard for what I have. I want to tell all those children that come from poor families that they too can make it,” said Ruto.
Ruto added that the new Jubilee Party was formed to unite all Kenyans and that it didn’t happen in Kasarani, as many people think, to win the next election.
“Many people think we formed Jubilee to win the next election. Jubilee party did not happen in Kasarani, we decided from day one that we were going to have one political party,” the DP said.
The DP said the Jubilee Party would deliver on every promise they made so that Kenyans can give them another chance in the upcoming General Election.
