Nairobi – A student has been arrested in Nairobi after torching a neighbours house in the city’s South B estate.
The student is believed to have torched the house of the neighbour following a business dispute.
He is alleged, together with others to have also burnt the victim’s car in the 4 AM incident Friday.
The students, according to police records torched the house on a revenge mission after the neighbour in question allegedly sol them out to council askaris who went on to destroy their kiosks but left hers untouched.
The incident did not see anyone injured though the house was extensively damaged and the car was written off.
Police say that they are looking for leads in the matter.
” We are looking for leads. At the moment the story is that the students burned the house after feeling unhappy over the acts of a neighbour. That is a criminal offence but we are investigating,” Nairobi Police boss Japheth Koome told News24.
The main suspect is a student at the nearby Kenya Institute of Mass Communication KIMC.
He was taken to the South B Police Station.
Police have already begun a search for the rest of the persons who allegedly helped him execute the plan.
