Kenya searches for female Shabaab operative

The government is searching for a woman believed to be behind a series of past, present and future Al Shabaab attacks in the country.

The woman has been named as Rukia Faraj and is said to be the wife of wanted Shabaab operative Ramadhan Kafungwa.

She is said to be hiding in one of the refugee camps in north eastern Province.

The government has offered a KES 2 million bounty for her whereabouts.

She is said to be behind the radicalization of youth to join the terror group and is also said to have been behind the smuggling into the country of weapons and machinery used in attacks.

” She is vital to Shabaab operations in the country and her capture would be vital, ” the Anti Terror Police report detailing concern about her says.

Her husband Kafungwa is also wanted for a spate of attacks along the coast as well as Mpeketoni in Lamu early this year.
