President Uhuru Kenyatta has named a new Director General of the National Youth Service.
Sam Michuki will replace Nelson Githinji who resigned last year in a cloud of monetary wastage at the NYS.
The NYS has been caught up in a KES 791 million loss scandal which has forced the likes of Githinji as well as former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru to resign from office.
Githinji was also apprehended by Police at his home as they sought to search for clues into the monetary wastage at the NYS.
He has denied taking any part in the loss of the funds.
” The changes take effect immediately,” a communique from the office of the President said Tuesday.
Michuki was Michuki was senior NYS deputy director in charge of the Kibra slums upgrading project before he fell out with Waiguru and was sacked.
He will take over a NYS that has been moved from the Devolution Ministry after Waiguru claimed that she had too much to do in her docket.
