The Rift Valley Kikuyu council of elders has said that the country cannot handle and is not ready for Raila Odinga’s presidency.
The council through its chairman Gilbert Kabage said that it will be risky for Kenya to have Raila Odinga as the President because he is divisive, and if elected president would spur ethnic hatred in the country.
Speaking Wednesday in Nakuru town, Kabage said that Kenya is much safer under the Uhuru presidency and replacing him would create chaos.
“Kenya as a country cannot handle Raila Odinga as president because of his arrogance and divisive character and we want to call upon all Kenyans to unite behind Uhuru Kenyatta because he is the best bet for the country. We cannot afford to allow the country to be driven to the dogs,” said Kabage.
“All these antics being displayed by Raila are aimed at causing confusion and mayhem in the country and dividing Kenyans like was the case in 2007 but Kenyans must desist it,” he said.
Kabage called on President Kenyatta to act hard on Raila and his supporters just the same way his father Jomo Kenyatta acted hard on Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
“Uhuru should deal with Raila the same way Jomo Kenyatta dealt with Oginga Odinga because that is the only way out,” he said.
