Kenya: Lit360 Features Top Female Tapster

The show Lit360 debuted on NTV a week ago on Thursday, giving the group of onlookers an inside and out scope on the music business as well as an essence of the Nairobi way of life with regards to sustenance and beverages.

We addressed Redempta Muluka, one of the best female mixologists in the nation, and she clarified the specialty of making a decent mixed drink.

One of her best mixed drinks, she says, is the Don Shell, the name she says she looked over the fixings she had utilized, that included extravagance premium tequila, Don Julio blended with tangerine and coconut cream that was served utilizing a coconut shell.

“I wanted to call it bomb shell but I thought that was too obvious so I chose Don Shell. Mixology is an art and presentation is always very important. I like going the extra mile than just pouring the liquid into a glass,” she said.

When preparing a cocktail, it is not just about mixing things, it is an art; one has to know the ratio of each ingredient.

Ms Muluka started her career as a professional mixologist back in 2006. She was hired as a bartender at the Diani Reef Hotel fresh from college where she had attained a Diploma in Hotel Management in Food and Beverages.

“Any mixologist will tell you that the process of making a cocktail is magical and that is exactly the feeling one should get after tasting your creation,” says Ms Muluka.

However, her big break came when she participated in an international mixology competition by East African Breweries Limited where she competed in the finals.

She created a signature cocktail which she called the “Hashtag.” It was a whisky cocktail which she says is not easy to create.
