The current Miss University Kenya, Ayiera Sheryl Alma, has revealed she can never date a politician
The fourth-year student at Multimedia University, who is set to represent the country this November at Miss University Africa in Nigeria told Heads Up that it is sad that young girls have been poisoned by ‘sponsor mentality’.
“It is sad. I want to change the narrative. I am a role model to every little girl out there with a dream of being a woman with a vision. I want to set a good example,” she said.
Currently, she is the ambassador for Safe pad By Real Relief. “The Stretch a hand initiative was founded in September 2017 inspired by the infamous ‘sex for pads’ saga.
Its main goal is to empower the girl child in Kenya and in extension Africa, by providing them with reusable sanitary towels and menstrual hygiene management education.
With the Stretch, a Hand Initiative, my team and I have been able to reach out to the less fortunate children in Kajiado and Nairobi donating reusable sanitary, food and even toiletries. I want to encourage girls that they can do anything they set their mind to,” she said.
