Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has refuted claims linking him with wrangles that have marred Mombasa county assembly chambers for weeks now.
In a phone interview with one of Mombasa based radio station on Wednesday, Joho acknowledged the ongoing disputes but insisted he is not represented by either of the warring sides or is he inciting any side to oppose the assembly proceedings.
‘’I am aware of the fights but I am not involved in any way. I even don’t know what they are fighting for. Those who claim Joho is the cause are just but intending to ruin my name,’’ Joho said.
The Governor further called on security personnel to move with speed and end the hostility stating it has put to stand still county’s business as many bills are pending.
His remarks come in the wake of county assembly’s speaker Thadius Rwajawi and majority leader Abdalla Kasagamba claims that their lives are in dangers after hate leaflets were found scattered inside their respective offices on Monday.
The leaflets authored in Swahili, warned the speaker and Kasagamba of dire consequences for opposing Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
