Kenya Former First Lady Lucy Kibaki Burial Plans Leak

There will be three days of mourning in the country following the death of former First Lady Lucy Kibaki.

The body of former First Lady Lucy Kibaki will arrive in Nairobi from London 5 am Sunday.

Kibaki died at Bupa Cromwell Hospital Tuesday morning.

Government spokesman Eric Kiraithe said Thursday that three days of national mourning will be marked.

” There will also be an opportunity for the public to sign condolence books which will be placed at several locations in Nairobi and county headquarters countrywide,” he said.

In Nairobi, the books will be placed at Holy Family Basilica and Consolata Shrine in Westlands.

Kiraithe said a national working committee has been set up to oversee the burial arrangements. The burial date will be announced later.

” The committee will announce at a later date when the burial will be,” he stated.

Kibaki was 82.
