Kenya: Boda boda rider killed, two pupils injured in Maralal accident

A man was killed when a van ferrying pupils to school collided with a boda boda in Maralal town on Thursday morning.

Witness Solomon Wanyeki said the boda boda was speeding from a feeder road when it hit the school van.

“The rider died at the scene while two pupils sustained head injuries,” said Samburu county police commander Alfred Angengo.

Angengo asked motorists to take note of all signs and rules.

The injured were taken to Samburu County Referral Hospital and the body to the facility’s mortuary.

Residents have threatened to hold peaceful demonstrations for the county to erect bumps on all feeder roads.

Amu Baby noted that several accidents have occurred since roads in the town were tarmacked.
