Kenyan Actress Wema Sepetu surprised her fans with a significant weight loss on her social media comeback.
Wema, who recently opened a clothes boutique came back to social media after a two-month hiatus.
In May this year, Wema allegedly flew to India for an unexplained medical treatment, missing her court appearance. This is according to her mother, Mariam Sepetu.
She told a Dar es Salaam court that her daughter, who was facing drug-related charges, could not attend court proceedings because she was “away on treatment”.
Mariam presented travel documents to State prosecutor Constantine Kakula to prove that Wema was unwell and had flown to India for medical reasons.
Rumour mills allege that the actress had done a gastric bypass operation which Wema’s manager Ndepanya rubbished.
“Wema won’t lack sleep because of such baseless speculations. She is actually turning a deaf ear on them. What I can say is that she flew to India to seek medical treatment,” Ndepanya said.
