Police in Kaduna State have declared it a State of Emergency due to the rise of kidnapping cases in the region, Punch reported.
According to reports the anti-kidnapping squad has been informed to track and dislodge the criminal gangs.
Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, gave orders of the declaration the state of emergency.
Several people in towns and villages across the state have been reported missing in the last three months,
Some of the people kidnapped include a cleric and the President of the Church who were later released after some time. In another incident a vice-president of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, died while being held captive.
The general public has been called to support and rid the criminals.
