The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has issued a warning against an online account with a name of one of its member which has been sharing explicit content.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Commission disowned a Facebook account bearing the name of High Court judge Aggrey Muchelule which was created on Tuesday.

“The Commission wishes to notify the general public that on 27th September 2016, a Facebook account purporting to belong to Commissioner Judge Aggrey Muchelule was created,” stated the Commission.

According to JSC’s communication head Morton Saulo, the account had been posting obscene material negatively affecting the image of the judge.

“We have noted the phony account manager is posting obscene content on the timeline. Being a public figure, the account is tainting the Commissioner’s image and reputation,” Mr Saulo was quoted.

The development comes as the Commission in which Muchelule sits continues to conduct interviews for Deputy Chief Justice position.

So far, six candidates have appeared before it, with 10 more set to be interviewed to succeed Kalpana Rawal who retired in July.

Last week, JSC announced Court of Appeal judge David Maraga as the successful candidate for the Chief Justice position which attracted 11 shortlisted individuals.
