ICC Verdict Ends Rumors That I Was Eyeing DP Ruto’s Seat- Eugene Wamalwa

WAMALWA

The termination of cases against Deputy President William Ruto and Joshua Sang at the International Criminal Court (ICC) continues to elicit various reactions.

Water Cabinet Secretary, Eugene Wamalwa on Sunday welcomed the decision by the ICC Judges and said it will bring to an end speculation that he was eyeing the Deputy President’s seat in 2017.

Wamalwa pointed out that some politicians from Western Kenya before the big announcement were spreading propaganda that he was preparing himself to be President Uhuru Kenyatta’s running mate in case Ruto was detained at the Hague based court.

“I wish to congratulate my two brothers. They kept the faith and focus and justice has at last been done. The verdict is a rude shock to those who were waiting for conviction to ride on the unlikely eventuality,” he said.

“Those who were fueling rumours that I was eyeing to be President Kenyatta’s deputy will have nothing to say anymore. Jubilee has been emboldened.

The die is now cast and the opposition must brace for a bruising battle,” Wamalwa told News24 through his private press secretary Isaac Wanjekeche.

Kiminini MP, Chris Wamalwa was early this year quoted in a section of the local media claiming that the CS was praying that the DP be detained so that he can be appointed to take over his position in the coming elections.

The CS denied the allegations and pointed out that he is working as a team with the Deputy President to ensure Jubilee retains power in the 2017 polls.

“Ruto is my teammate in Jubilee and there is no way I could wish him evil,” the CS said.
