Ibori To Complete Jail Term In Nigeria

Abuja –  There are indications that former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori will complete his remaining jail term in Nigeria, reports The Nation.

This follows an agreement signed on Wednesday between the Federal Government and the UK government.

The new agreement allows Nigerians currently serving jail terms in the United Kingdom to be transferred to Nigeria to complete their periods.

The United Kingdom Minister of Justice, Jeremy Wright, revealed this when he led the UK team to visit the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau to finalise the process of prisoner exchange between the two countries.

He stated that under the agreement, which he signed, Nigerians in British prisons would be repatriated to complete their jail terms in the country.

Ibori still has more than six months to stay in prison.
