I Will Never Forget How Cold His Hands Felt, Kambua Recalls Father’s Last Moments

Gospel singer and TV host Kambua has penned a heartwarming message to her late father Prof Manundu on the 6th anniversary of his passing.

In the letter she shared on social media, singer Kambua wrote that it has taken her years to understand grief, heal and fully come to terms with his death.

Kambua noted that whilst she can’t turn back the hands of time, the thing she wished for the most and has since accepted is that he never got to meet and see her son, Nathaniel.

“Grief is like unfamiliar, uncharted waters no one can fully prepare you for. Grief is multilayered; just when you think it’s over, it reveals itself in a new light. I have grieved the fact that he never got to meet my beautiful baby boy,” she posted.

Remembering her father, Kambua recalled his last moments: “But I will never forget the sound of his booming laugh, nor the sparkle in his eyes, or the warmth of his hands… Just as I will never forget how cold they were before he breathed his last.”

She further highlighted that whilst nothing fills the void and sense of emptiness, she draws strength from the promise of her faith.

“And this hope in no way nullifies the pain- it gives it purpose. God writes our stories, and in Him, nothing is lost,” she said.

“Our present pain and suffering is nothing compared to the glory that will be revealed in us. I am grateful that my father’s legacy points to Jesus. Keep resting in glory my Papa.”

Days to the remembrance date, the award-winning gospel singer exposed a conman purporting to be working with the World Health Organization (WHO) who’d targeted her with a fake email invite.

In the email, the fraudster stated that she had been chosen to attend the conference in South Africa on coronavirus pandemic and asked her to send a refundable sum of Sh30,000.

The email sent to her read, “The WHO is holding a conference in South Africa on 18th of April 2020 to dialogue on the way forward for African countries before the virus becomes uncontrollable. You are among the 10 influential people in Kenya chosen to attend the Conference. Flight and accommodation will be catered for. A deposit of $300 to our Kenyan Ambassador of WHO mobile no +254701117319 to secure your spot, which is refunded back on the 19th of April 2020.”

According to WHO, no such invite was sent nor event organized.
