God Saved Me From Death, Says Man Who Was Brutally Beaten By Kenya Police

A man who was captured on a video receiving a severe beating from police officers during protests and was even thought to be dead, said God saved him.

Boniface Manono’s video and pictures showing him being brutally clobbered by three cops  went viral on Monday, drawing outrage from across the globe.

On Tuesday morning reports emerged that he had succumbed to the injuries only for him to resurface later in Kibra.

“Only God saved me. It is a miracle that I survived.  I have looked at the video of my beating and wept,” said Mr Manono on Wednesday during an interview at a local TV station.

On how he found himself in the middle of the demonstrations, Manono explained that he was from Westlands for an interview with Uber when he ran into the anti-IEBC protests led by opposition leaders.

“ I was crossing from University Way towards Maendeleo House when I was intercepted by police,” he said.
