Ghanaian Painter Sells Painting For $1.5 Million

Lynette Yiadom Boakye is a Ghanaian based who lives in the U.K. She is also an artist.

Lynette did a painting in 2011 titled, The Hours Behind You. The painting was sold for over $1m by Sotheby’s. Sotheby’s is one of the world’s largest brokers of fine and decorative art, jewellery, real estate, and collectables.

“The Hours Behind You” is full of energy and emotion. It depicts a group of women barefoot, wearing simple white shift dresses or cotton nightgowns, lost in a spirited dance.
