Fulani Herdsmen Launch Fresh Attacks In Enugu Community – Report.

Confusion has actually been reported in Enugu State, adhering to records that Fulani herdsmen have actually introduced fresh assaults in Umuchigbo, one another area in the State.

According to Daily Post, the attacks occurred while Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase was at Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani council area.

“Yes, there is trouble between the Fulani herdsmen and indigenes of Umuchigbo…But school children have been asked to go home. It is not yet known if security men have arrived,” a source was quoted as saying.

This came a few days after over 20 people were killed in the Ukpabi Nimbo community.

Reports indicated that over 100 armed cattle rearers stormed the community, killing indiscriminately and razing buildings in the process.

Prior to the attack, the herdsmen had been recruiting gunmen from Nasarawa in preparation for the deadly ambush.

Many of the villagers escaped to the nearby Uzo-Uwani area, where many of the natives in the community are fearing for their safety in light of more attacks.

The villagers said they were abandoned even after they alerted security agencies to the plan to attack them.
