Fulani herdsmen from Ilorin have sent out an impassioned plea to Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, urging him to lift a ban placed on open grazing across the state.
According to Naij, Alhaji Mahmood Ahmadu, Seriki of the Ilorin Fulani, has cleared his members of any involvement in recent attacks and claimed that restricting the movement of over three million cattle across 16 council areas would being their businesses to a halt.
The development follows on from Fayose’s announcement that open grazing is banned in Ekiti, while advising farmers to seek out private ranches as an alternative.
Ahmadu has since assured his members that he plans to join hands with Governor Fayose to bring the perpetrators of violence against state citizens to book, while promising that Ekiti shall be secured.
