Biafran agitators have received a major boost following a visit from a Phillippian envoy to Imo State.
According to a Naij report, an aide to the Phillippian Senate President, Cynthia Esgurrna Touraha, visited as a guest of the Imo Bilie Initiative (IBI), an NGO in strong support of the actualization of the Biafran state.
The report indicated that Touraha is set to witness court proceedings in a suit filed against the Federal Government by IBI.
Innocent Amadi, IBI President, informed reporters that the visitor sat in court on Thursday to witness proceedings in the trial.
“We were at the Federal High Court, Owerri, to keep our date, but we were told that the court always enjoyed one week break after the Easter festivities. Our case has been adjourned to May 2, 2016.
“We shall employ legal framework and diplomatic channels in fighting for the sovereign state of Biafra,” he said.
Amadi also lamented the state of infrastructure in the South East region, saying that much improvement was needed.
“The money spent in the construction of a single bridge in Abuja, can pave many roads in the South East geo-political zone,” he said.
