A blasphemous claim shared over social media sites concerning Prophet Muhammad has actually stimulated physical violence in Niger State, with three people feared dead because of this.
According to Naij, Methodus Chimaije Emmanuel was attacked and killed by a mob on Sunday following his posting of a blasphemous comment over social media.
The violence escalated on Monday morning when rioters looted shops and blocked the Lagos-Kaduna road, barring traffic from travelling between the northern and southern parts of the country.
The offensive Facebook post has yet to be presented to security operatives,The Trent reports.
Regrettably, a house, a shop and a church were torched as a result of the violence, with 25 shops reportedly having been looted in the process.
Military personnel have stated that they will continue to monitor the situation, assuring that peace will prevail across the state once again.
