Five year old, Angela Matende is suffering from serious injuries after she was involved in a car accident at the Ng’ata Bridge while 7 others perished on Sunday, reports Standard Media.
Please stop what you are doing because you are making me cry. I want to go home and see my mum and dad. I miss them,” says the child, tears rolling down her cheeks.
She is receiving treatment at Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital Nakuru.
The minor unfortunately also lost both her parents in the accident with authorities not being able to locate family members.
According to the little girl she has a sister with whom she attends Town View School, she said she also has two brothers.
“The hospital has been working closely with police officers and the local administration to get details of the minor’s family but nothing is forthcoming,” says Deputy Nursing Officer Edward Muhavi.
Eleven passengers were on board a matatu headed for Eldoret from Nakuru when a speeding driver carrying a trailer lost control ramming into the matatu.
Meanwhile a man was fatally killed on Tuesday in a hit and run accident in Nairobi by a lorry carrying sand lost control.
The incident occurred on the busy Mbagathi Way.
