It has now been affirmed more than nine Kenya Defense Force (KDF) soldiers were slaughtered in the destructive Kulbiyow attack.

According to reports, more than ten families have received the bodies of soldiers killed in the attack.
KDF in a statement, had claimed only nine soldiers died during the attack with dozens injured.
Those killed the statement said were two KDF soldiers and 7 servicemen.

According to a list compiled by the Star, the number of soldiers killed has surpassed the one given by KDF.

9. Juma Mwanguya- Kilifi
10. Kennedy Bakari- Kilifi
12. Rajab Baya- Kilifi
13. George Ndirangu
14. Benson Ntheketha- Mombasa
15. Josiah Kamau
16. Captain Silas Ekidor

Francis Kombo from Mazeras was one of the soldiers killed during Kulbiyow attack.
