The Federal Government has suspended all military operations against militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers in a bid to hold talks with the group.
According to a Naij report, Petroleum Minister Ibe Kachikwu is set to allow individuals from militant groups across the Niger Delta to converge for dialogue in a bid to address issues that have been plaguing aggrieved militants.
While urging the groups to shelve their violent acts, Kachikwu called on militants to voice their concerns and embrace constructive dialogue with Government, Vanguard reports.
The development follows from reports indicating that President Muhammadu Buhari is taking steps to tackle renewed violence within the Niger Delta region by analyzing the gazette signed by late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
