The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have revealed how former Chief of Air Staff, Adesola Amosu, looted money from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in order to acquire properties worth billions of naira.

According to Premium Times, the retired Air Marshall was arraigned on a 26-count charge for stealing N50 billion, alongside an Air Vice Marshal, Jacob Adigun and an Air Commodore, Gbadebo Olugbenga.

Amosu’s charge sheet states that Amosu allegedly removed billions from the NAF bank account to purchase properties in Abuja, Lagos and London.

Charged alongside ex-Air Vice Marshal Adigun, the pair are said to have acquired a property worth N500 in Abuja, a separate property worth N240 million in Abuja, a N1.7 bilion property in Ikoyi, as well as two properties in London amounting to N660 million.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges and were later granted bail in the sum of N500 million with two sureties each, both of which must own properties within the court’s jurisdiction.

The matter has since been adjourned to July 8.

Amosu has returned N2.6 billion in loot to the Federal Government at the current time, while 29 properties belonging to ex-Air Force Chiefs have been seized by the EFCC.
