Elton John, the legendary British musician, was hospitalized on Sunday after collapsing at his house in France.
The 76-year-old has spent the summer at his villa in Nice with his husband, David Furnish, and their children, Zachary and Elijah.
A spokeswoman for the musician said in a statement that he stumbled at home, prompting a precautionary hospital visit to the orthopedic department of the Princess Grace Hospital Center in Monaco.
The statement added that the ‘I’m Still Standing’ hitmaker was discharged on Monday morning after check-ups and is now back home.
“We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the south of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” the spokesperson said.
“Following check-ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”
John is one of the best-selling artistes of all time.
In his music career spanning six decades, he has sold over 300 million records worldwide.
John has received five Grammy Awards and five Brit Awards; including Outstanding Contribution to Music; two Academy Awards, and two Golden Globes.
He also has a Tony Award, a Laurence Olivier Award, a Disney Legends Award, and the Kennedy Center Honour.
