DJ Matts Named Best Deejay in Western Uganda

Crooze FM’s DJ Matts is the new king of turntables in Western Uganda.

This after he emerged victor in the regional Club DJ Awards championship held last weekend at Ice Lounge in Mbarara. Matts saw off competition from several deejays from the region including districts like Bushenyi, Kanungu, and Kasese among others in a battle for the best spin-master’s accolade.

On top of bragging rights, Matts also took home UGX 500,000 and the accolade.

The championship will head to Eastern Uganda next with a showdown of the region’s top deejays slated for Friday, 12 May at Club El Tanjia in Mbale.

The regional competitions will culminate into the grand finale which will take place in Entebbe at Lido beach on Sunday, 21 May where regional winners will battle deejays from Kampala for a cash prize Ugx 2 Million.

Started in 2008, the annual Club DJ Awards championship is now in its 10th edition.
