Lagos – Jafaru Isa, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former military governor of Kaduna State, has returned N100 million of the N170 million that he received from Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser.
Premium Times reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Isa on Wednesday in Abuja.
He was questioned for hours about his connection with Dasuki and the money he received from him.
Isa, who is a political associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, was released after he refunded the N100 million.
The EFCC said that they were expecting him to return the rest of the money soon.
According to sources, Dasuki gave the money to Isa in order to purchase a house in Kano for the former NSA. Isa then transferred the money to Ali Tukur, the owner of the house.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) protested Isa’s release while their spokesperson, Olisa Metuh, remained in prison.
