Actor John Dumelo says marking Ghana’s Independence Day with a celebration is not important because ‘there is nothing to celebrate’.
Ghana turned 61 years on Tuesday March 6 after gaining independence on 6th March 1957.
And, as has been the tradition since 1957, parades were held across the country, while in the capital Accra, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo received the national salute at the Black Star Square.
The celebration was under the theme : ”Ghana beyond Aid.”
But John Dumelo sharing his opinion through his Twitter account on March, 6, said he saw no valid point in allocating a budget to celebrate Ghana’s Independence day.
He tweeted the following thoughts:

So who do we blame?. Our leaders?? No! Ourselves.. Big things at big places were made and discovered by big people.. We all have a role to play in the betterment of our nation…
Its time the big men advocate to the people that Ghana can also be like Paris but it depends on us.— kwaku~ (@J_newguy) March 6, 2018
