Richard Alden, the British national facing charges of killing his Kenyan girlfriend early this month, has been summoned for possessing an unlicensed firearm.
Alden, 53, was arrested following the death of his girlfriend, 42-year-old Grace Wangeci, at his Karen residence on June 4.
He, however, denied the charges saying that Wangeci had died while taking selfies with his gun, and was remanded pending investigations.
Mid this month when he appeared again in court, another lawyer in his defence team dismissed the selfies allegations but did not explain how Wangeci died.
The Star reports that Aden was denied bail because of the contradictory statements he made over Wangeci’s murder. The Director for Public Prosecutions further said he was a flight risk.
On Monday, State Counsel Eddie Kadebe ordered that Alden appear in court on June 30 to plead to the charge of possessing an unlicensed firearm.
That is the same day a ruling on his bail application will be made.
