CORD has announced that it will hold IEBC protests twice a week to force a decision from the government over reforms to the body.
Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama announced Monday that the protests would be increased from the once a week to twice a week starting this week.
He said that the move will force the government to accelerate its dialogue mechanisms over the issue.
” We will make it twice a week now from Thursday,” he said.
He added that the protests, which have been only taking place Mondays will increase in potency as time goes by.
” The protests are for the common good of the nation so increasing them will be of service to the country,” he added.
He called on the Jubilee Coalition to quickly form its team to take part in dialogue talks so as to end the protests once and for all.
CORD last week formed a five member team to deal with the dialogue talks led by Muthama and Siaya Senator James Orengo.
So far, President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto have stated that they will not bow to the pressure of demonstrations to hold talks outside the premise of the Constitution.
