
The spot where the bodies of two boys who had been necklaced in Etwatwa was discovered.
News24 was told that the teenage boy, aged around 17, was beaten up before a burning truck tyre was placed around his neck at around noon.
Police arrived on the scene and managed to put the fire out, but he was severely burnt and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
The boy was believed to be a ringleader of the OVL gang.
On Sunday, the first teenage boy was necklaced, and then twin boys were killed in the same way on Tuesday. They were 16-years-old.
Residents told News24 this was part of gang violence.
The boy killed on Sunday was said to have been murdered by members of the OVL gang and then, in retaliation, the twins were killed on Tuesday.
