Named as Ntombenhle Mkhize, 35, and Ntombi Mhlongo, 42, they were found during searches by the Weenen community, police search-and-rescue and the Pietermaritzburg K9 Unit.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala said the first body was found on Friday while the second body was found the following day.
It is understood that the first body was found by people 35km from where the bakkie they were traveling in was swept away.
A source, who could not be named, said the body was found trapped underneath debris.
The bakkie was travelling from Weenen with six passengers when it tried to cross a low-level bridge during a major storm last Tuesday night and was swept away.
This find takes the confirmed death toll to three people. The body of Thulani Mhlongo, 35, was found shortly after the incident. The other three passengers escaped unharmed.
Umshwathi mayor Bongani Dlamini has said the council would assist the family with the costs of the funerals.
