Iraq’s Health Ministry spokesperson says a fire that erupted overnight at a Baghdad hospital has killed 11 newborn babies.
The spokesperson, Ahmed al-Roudaini, says the blaze broke out late on Tuesday night inside the maternity department at the Yarmouk hospital, which is in western Baghdad.
He said on Wednesday that an first investigation suggests the fire was due to an electricity failure.
No other details were ready to avail.
