Ariana Grande Replace Kanye West, as he Backs Out of Coachella 2019 Festival

Ariana Grande has tweeted of her joy after being picked to headline Coachella 2019 – after her occasional sparring partner, Kanye West back out of the iconic festival.

God Is A Woman hitmaker Ariana will be headlining on Sunday, April 14 and 21 2019 when the desert-based fest returns in a few months.

She’ll join the actor and rapper Childish Gambino, who are headlining on Friday, April 12 and 19, and Tame Impala (Saturday, April 13 and 20), as the three major signings at this year’s mega-festival.

Other stars appearing in the Coachella 2019 line-up are; 1975, Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles, Kid Cudi, Weezer, Khalid, Churches, Puha T, and Christine And The Queens.

Tickets for the Californian desert event go on sale this Friday and will set back lucky music lovers a casual $429 for a weekend pass, or $999 if you fancy splashing out for a Kylie Jenner-style VIP wristband.

Reveling in the happy news on Twitter, Ariana told her fans she was thrilled to be picked to headline the closing weekends of the two-week festival.

“Humbled and excited as all hell Coachella thank u,” she tweeted.

It comes after Kanye – who along with wife Kim Kardashian is believed to be expecting his fourth child via a surrogate mother – reportedly pulled out of talks with Coachella organizers after a fight over the set design.

According to TMZ, Kanye refused to perform a traditional 60x40ft stage because it was ‘artistically limiting’.

A source slammed the festival’s staging as ‘archaic’, adding: “It’s the same type of stage on which Shakespeare’s works were performed hundreds of years ago.”
