The All Progressives Congress (APC) will organize a special national convention within the next three months, reports Daily Trust.
The convention will ratify the amendment made in the party’s constitution especially as it affects the Board of Trustees (BoT).
This was disclosed by the party’s National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun in Abuja.
He said the party’s national secretariat will soon send out notices to all state chapters on the modalities for electing delegates for the convention.
He defended the delay in the constitution of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).
He said the delay in the inauguration of the board was to make it more effective.
Daily Post reports that there is a clandestine move by leadership of the party to replace the Board of Trustees (BoT) with a ‘Council of Elders’.
It is believed that the move by the APC to scrap the BoT is to forestall bad blood among party bigwigs.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and the party’s national leader, Bola Tinubu have been working round the clock to clinch the APC BoT chairmanship position.
