The rapper, real name Shawn Carter has added a hyphen and spelling it out in all capital letters. The name change will be used on his recently announced and highly anticipated new album, “4:44,” which comes out on his streaming service Tidal on June 30.
The hip-hop mogul’s spokesperson didn’t have a comment for why JAY-Z decided to make the name change — but it’s not the first time he’s altered his title.
