American Actress and Singer, Selena Gomez, just underwent a kidney transplant, and she just took to Instagram to tell us of the struggle behind her smile.
She revealed that she had a kidney transplant this summer to help her battle Lupus. For this reason, she hasn’t been able to promote her new music. She went on to reveal that it was her friend who donated the kidney.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the human immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks healthy tissues and systems such as the kidneys and blood cells.
Since Gomez discovered her condition in 2015, she has been pretty upfront about the impact the autoimmune disease has had on her health, career and quality of life.
We can only wish her a speedy recovery.
