Amaechi, Wike Fight Dirty Over Rivers Rerun Elections

The immediate past governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and his successor, Nyesom Wike on Sunday engaged each other in a blistering war of words over the March 19 legislative rerun elections in the state.

Ameachi described Wike as an illiterate.

He stated that he was ready for any action from Wike during the rerun elections.

Amaechi challenged Wike and his supporters to come out with guns to the day of the elections, noting that there would be adequate security on the ground on the day of the elections.

The governor on his part said Amaechi was a failed governor who needed psychiatric attention.

The governor said Amaechi’s invitation of the military to provide security cover was a ploy to rig the elections.

Wike, who spoke through the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George, said Amaechi was plotting to cause anarchy in the state

The governor appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to call Amaechi to order.
