Don’t we all agree that jealousy just might not be the word he was supposed to use? Point is, he used it and in the US for that matter. Popular Ghanaian Dance hall singer, Shatta Wale is currently in the United States and during one of his media runs, he caught American rap legend 50 cents at the G Unit office in New York. Shatta was captured grinning from ear to ear in a photo which has since gone viral.

Shatta Wale and 50 Cents
When asked during his interview on “This is 50″why his name was practically on the lips of Ghanaian artistes for the negative reasons, Shatta claimed that people dislike him simply because they are jealous of him. Shatta also took the time to blame the press for distorting his image and posting negative reports about him and ignoring the good. See excerpts from his interview:
“I don’t really beef with people. People are kind of jealous of how I’m rising. In Ghana, the industry is not like in America because we have a whole lot of problems in Ghana that the artistes are not fighting for in terms of getting our royalties to be paid, in terms of we getting shows and the artistes are not getting paid well. I’m the only artiste who makes sure artistes get paid and we get rich.
I could boldly say I am making money more than every other artiste in Ghana all because I stand up, I really want things to be done well for the industry. That’s how come I get these beefs everywhere because people think I talk too much but I don’t talk too much. I talk for people to see the practical aspect of everything I am doing.”
